1. "Understanding The Forum" is one of the Categories, as is "Random Rantings" and others.
2. Starting a new topic within a Category is called a Post (what other forums call a Thread).
3. Responses to Posts are called Comments (even your own - and what other forums call Posts).
Site Administration: There is no inter-member personal message ability. Members can send a PM to me as the owner and administrator using the Wix Engage link in the emails you receive from the site or from the blue comments boxes on the Blog and other website pages. Should you wish to personally contact another forum member I shall forward your email address to him and it then is his prerogative to respond or not.
The Blog on the menu is used for sharing larger, prepared articles not necessarily meriting and receiving chatty comments. Posting in the blog prompts moderation before the post is published. Members can post in the blog from their regular email address. Comments on these blog posts can be made of course, and require a similar blog post which will be moderated as well.
Costs: Managing the costs of the forum has not been finally decided on. Kind donations from members allowed the purchase of the .com domain - a step which immediately saw a rise in membership, a 300% increase in views of the Shootouts and an increase in active participation on the forum. The decision regarding related product advertisements will be made shortly - particularly when Bullet Behaviour also becomes a full online paid-for gun magazine.
Ethos: Maintaining our ethos of factual discussion free from the emotions of grandstanding or belittling of others may not make us appealing to the majority of hunters and shooters who evidently populate these sites - but so be it. This site will never be part of that style apparently liked by the majority and accepted by administrators.
Become active: To those members who still are quiet on the side lines: Your inputs, chats, questions, experiences are anticipated, welcomed in advance and appreciated. I know of a few who are new to hunting: Be sure that your inputs into the collective pool of knowledge are needed as much as for example those from the expert ballisticians at propellant and bullet manufacturers.
Style and flavour: The website and forum will always display an Africa style, with me using Oxford English in my missives and not Webster's. My time is mostly divided between Colorado and Africa and I see myself equally as a free thinking, conservative Coloradian and an African. I indeed see myself as the true African American, loyal to my ancestors' 375 years' Africa roots and loyal to my other homeland as well.

The CZ. 550 .416 Rigby , tropical dry season in a drift in the Loureco River, Niassa Province far northern Mozambique, 7 degrees latitude from the equator. The pungent smell of ammonia hanging around - female elephant and calves close by but unseen. They are under heavy poaching out of Tanzania and are jittery and very defensive.

There always will be a Colorado flavour detectable around this website and forum. Michigan hunter Doug Bruce with mule deer at 7,500 ft elevation. His first, and he endured our 200 yard, one hour leopard crawl amongst mere 2 ft high sage brush and ground cactii to within 50 yards of his buck.
Take care.

Yep African American! Now if you'd just get yourself a couple of magnum rifles you'd be a whole heap more American. Now that's funny right there :)
And using a muzzle loader is a real fun way to hunt. It looks like that shooter you guided was using a Thompson Center of some kind.
It was a. 50, very accurate rifle, beautiful camo stock. Beautiful people too, Doug and his dad from Michigan.
I have been trying to think which magnum do I need and I woke up this morning and it was all clear to me: Holland & Holland will be in the name - and a three and a seven and a five (again)! And if the force is with me... man, it will be a Musgrave. If that is African-American in some way that is the way it is.
:)
The Musgrave man is missed at Accurate Shooter. His posts provided a wealth of information; best of luck with your new endeavor if I can ever be of any assistance just reach out and let me know.
Thank you sir...and welcome to the forum! You are amongst friendly folks here.
I posted a civil but pointed response on that thread in Shootersforum and a (I know which one) moderator removed it almost immediately. Even as owner of this forum and website I shall never remove a post - and in any case with the quality of people such action shall never be necessary. I do arrange posts into the best category but that is simple housekeeping.
Yes, we strive here to not be shallow in our deliberations, to always be civil and friendly, and we are driven by facts and not emotion. Having said that you are allowed to experience some inner emotion when you stand by your first kudu or Cape buffalo.. :-)

Andries, if you could use a hand moderating, an extra set of eyes to ensure discussions are kept at the standard you want to achieve, please let me know. With 25 years of legal experience it allows me to garner a different perspective; the mindset is to allow people to express themselves within certain socially acceptable standards without compromising acceptable standards of discourse. If I can be of assistance in achieving this norm, I'd be happy to contribute.
